Polaris Is Shutting Down Victory Motorcycles

Polaris Industries Inc. announced today that it will begin shutting down the Victory Motorcycles brand.

After struggling to be successful while faced with the pressures of a challenging motorcycle market, Victory has admitted defeat. During the process of winding down Victory, Polaris will provide assistance to dealers to sell through existing inventories.

Polaris will additionally continue to supply parts to dealers for 10 years while also continuing to provide service and warranty coverage.

“This was an incredibly difficult decision for me, my team and the Polaris Board of Directors,” said Polaris Industries Chairman and CEO Scott Wine. “Over the past 18 years, we have invested not only resources, but our hearts and souls, into forging the Victory Motorcycles brand, and we are exceptionally proud of what our team has accomplished.”

The difficult choice Polaris has been forced to make during a challenging time for the motorcycle market does not reflect on any other Polaris business unit. With the strength of Indian Motorcycles, we won’t see Polaris backing out of the motorcycle business anytime soon. In fact, we may see more growth in the future for Indian as Polaris begins to focus in on the Indian Motorcycle brand. Polaris has also found recent success in the Slingshot brand and will continue to support the growth of this new innovative machine.

While it is disheartening to see the Victory Motorcycles brand take a bow, we hope to see Indian Motorcycles grow and succeed in 2017.
